El millonario Alberto, recién casado con Dorotea, salta en paracaidas antes de que se estrelle su avión en la Sierra de Chihuahua. Mientras él se oculta en el rancho ganadero de su hermano Carlos, en México los parientes de Dorotea lo dan por muerto y suponen que la herencia de Alberto será para Carlos.
